Satellite provider DirecTV next week launches a brand new performance and discussion show called “Guitar Center Sessions” that will feature Peter Gabriel in its debut episode; above is a clip taken from that episode showing Gabriel, sitting alone at a piano before a live audience, performing “Here Comes the Flood,” the classic closing track from his 1977 solo debut.
The half-hour Gabriel episode premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT Aug. 21 on DirecTV’s in-house 101 Network (and the provider’s new 3D channel, n3D), and repeats several times that night. To promote the debut, Gabriel is giving away a free MP3 download of the “Here Comes the Flood” performance to fans willing to part ways with their e-mail address.
The series’ second episode will feature Jane’s Addiction and is “coming in September.”
