As teased last week, famed producer Trevor Horn today announced he’s reuniting The Buggles “for their first ever full live gig,” a front-to-back, one-off performance of the band’s 1980 debut album The Age of Plastic at a yet-to-be-revealed London venue on Sept. 28.
The show, a benefit for London’s Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, will feature the original Buggles lineup — Horn, Geoff Downes (currently playing with Asia) and Bruce Woolley — plus “some very special guest artists.” Horn, on his website, stresses that the performance “at a special and intimate West London venue” will be a one-time event: “No tour is planned, no DVD or live CD will be released.”
