With that joint Peter Murphy tour now off the table, Dead Can Dance’s Brendan Perry yesterday announced the second leg of his 2010 tour: 17 dates in the U.K. and Europe spread across May, June, July, August and into September — with “more concerts to follow.”
The dates follow a run of shows in South America, Europe and Russia in March and April, and presumably come in lieu of the 100-date world tour Perry had been planning with the former Bauhaus singer. And since that trek was announced as including an American leg, perhaps there’s still hope for U.S. solo shows from Perry.
Perry also is set to finally release Ark, his long-in-the-works follow-up to 1999’s Eye of the Hunter. The record — billed as “more reminiscent of the music Brendan has written for Dead Can Dance than his previous solo work” — is due out June 7. Fans can download one of the tracks, “Utopia,” for free from Perry’s website.
