BACKSTORY: The short-lived Liverpool indie-pop act is the subject of a new U.K.-issued, four-disc, 91-track box set that compiles singles, b-sides and unreleased outtakes, including the band’s 1987 debut single, “Way Out”; an unreleased version of “Timeless Melody” from 1989; and the original 1988 version of “There She Goes.” The set also includes two discs worth of live material, including previously unreleased performances recorded in London and Manchester in 1989 and 1991. BACKSTORY: The iconoclastic rocker has digitally remastered his oft-derided 1975 guitar-feedback opus on a trio of audiophile formats: 180-gram vinyl, DVD Audio and Blu-ray. All three include “a stereo reproduction of the original quadrophonic master,” while the the two disc editions also include discrete four-channel mixes.
