Judging by tonight’s playlist, “Dark Wave” on Sirius XM’s classic alternative outlet 1st Wave continues to improve — and by “improve,” we mean “not playing the same songs every week.” Tonight’s episode mixed in some rare(ish) appearances by My Bloody Valentine, KMFDM and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult with lesser-aired tracks from big names like Love and Rockets (“No Big Deal”), The Cure (Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me’s “One More Time”), Kate Bush (“Cloudbusting”) and Depeche Mode (“Any Second Now” off Speak & Spell).
“Dark Wave” airs each Sunday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern/7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific.

hey maybe give Swedish Egil a shout for hosting the show? It used to be some cornball “DJ Lestat” with gimmicky “dark vampire” imaging… and thankfully they jettisoned that for the longtime KROQ / MarrsFM / Groove Radio personality who does a great job!
Thanks for posting this. The one glaring thing that comes to mind, for me, is that they need to get a different PiL record. Considering that “Album” isn’t even very good in the first place. How about playing anything from one of their first three records next week?
