With the second season of “Spectacle” wrapping up at the end of this month, host Elvis Costello is returning to the road this spring in a number of guises, performing solo, playing with both The Imposters and The Sugarcanes, and appearing for two nights with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Costello kicks off his tour April 7, playing a half-dozen solo shows in California before hitting New Jersey and Mississippi for a pair of gigs with the Imposters, which feature ex-Attractions Steve Nieve and Pete Thomas. From there, Costello plays eight concerts in the eastern U.S. with the Sugarcanes, the band that backed him on last year’s Secret, Profane & Sugarcane: Jerry Douglas (dobro), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Mike Compton (mandolin), Jeff Taylor (accordion) and Dennis Crouch (double bass).
Finally, after one more stray Imposters show, Costello will wrap up the spring dates with two appearances, May 28 and 29, with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
