Today marks a milestone in the history of college rock: R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, in many ways the mumbly voice of ’80 indie and alternative music, turns 50. To mark the occasion, here’s a personal favorite, a clip of the band tearing through Lifes Rich Pageant highlight “I Believe” from the band’s “Tourfilm” concert movie, shot during the band’s Green World Tour in 1989.
