As threatened, ex-Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen has released a Christmas song with guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite in memory of late Killing Joke/Ministry bassist Paul Raven. “It’s Always Christmas” is now available for 99 cents via iTunes, and Jourgensen’s 13th Planet Records has just posted the video shown above, which features a rambling intro from Uncle Al, who exhorts all to, “Go fuck yourself on Christmas — I’m over it. I’m seriously over it.”
The song itself, the first taste of Jourgensen’s new collaboration with Thwaite, isn’t quite as synthpoppy as promised, but it’s a far cry from the industrial-metal sounds Ministry most recently traded in. Yet as some already have pointed out, the melody is reminiscent of A Flock of Seagulls’ “Space Age Love Song.”

Actually, it sounds pretty much exactly what a I would expect a Ministry Christmas song to sound like… with tongues planted firmly in cheeks all over the production.
