‘This Is Big Audio Dynamite’ reissue due in February, will include unreleased tracks

The expanded 2CD reissue of This Is Big Audio Dynamite — the 1985 debut from Mick Jones’ post-Clash project, Big Audio Dynamite — that was supposed to come out in September is now scheduled to be released Feb. 16, according to Sony/Legacy.

Formed following Jones’ expulsion from the Clash, Big Audio Dynamite was notable for its early blending of punk, dance music, hip-hop and sampling. This Is Big Audio Dynamite — which featured breakout singles “The Bottom Line,” “E=MC2″ and “Medicine Show” — most famously sampled dialogue from spaghetti westerns such as “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” and “A Fistful of Dollars” (in addition to Joe Strummer’s “London Calling” scream).

The expanded Legacy Edition, overseen by band member and filmmaker Don Letts, will feature a remastered version of the original album on one disc, and a second disc of “unreleased tracks, sought-after B-sides and 12-inch mixes,” according to Sony/Legacy. The tracklisting has not yet been released.
