L.A. punk vets Social Distortion wrapped up their two-night stint opening for Pearl Jam in Philadelphia last night, with the latter band’s Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready joining Mike Ness and Co. for Social D. standard “Ball and Chain.” (See video below).
Ness and guitarist Jonny “2 Bags” Wickersham returned the favor during the main set, joining PJ for “Down.” (See that video below, too.)
Pearl Jam wraps up its four-night stand at the soon-to-be razed Philadelphia Spectrum on Friday and Saturday, with another veteran of the ’80s Southern California punk scene — Bad Religion — handling opening duties.
Social D., meanwhile, is expected to begin work soon on what will be the 30-year-old band’s seventh studio album, and its first since 2004’s Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll.
