Reformed post-punk legends Mission of Burma will mark the release this fall of their third post-comeback album, The Sound The Speed The Light, with a brief six-date tour that’ll take the band to Austin, Texas, and down the West Coast.
The run opens Nov. 8 with an appearance at Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest, after which Mission of Burma will hit Portland and Eugene, Ore., Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The short tour follows the band’s sporadic live dates this summer, including concerts last weekend in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. More shows are expected next year.
The Sound The Speed The Light is due out Oct. 6 on Matador Records. The label still has not revealed the album’s full tracklist, although it is offering a free MP3 of one of the songs on the record: “1, 2, 3, Partyy!” Additionally, the band last month released “Innermost,” a 7-inch single featuring two non-album tracks.

Did anyone catch the show in Pittsburgh on Sept. 6? It was a very small venue and the show sold out. I’m assuming it was awesome…but would love an earwitness account. Thanks!
