The members of Sonic Youth will play DJ each night next week when the band hosts a show on Sirius XMU, the indie-rock station on Sirius XM satellite radio.
“The Sonic Youth Show” will air from 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, on XM channel 43 and Sirius channel 26.
According to the band’s Web site, the show will feature music hand-picked by the band, including Sonic Youth faves as well as tracks from artists who have influenced the group:
“During each show, the band will offer fans an inside look into the creative process of their most recent album, The Eternal. Gordon, Moore, Ranaldo and Shelley will share stories behind some of their best known songs, including ‘Kool Thing,’ ‘Bull In The Heather’ and ‘Teenage Riot.'”
Meanwhile, the band has begun its U.S. tour in support of Matador Records debut The Eternal.
