Wow!!! It was so great to hear India by Psych furs (such a great song!). Thank you so so much for playing my requests, I was so excited to hear Play for Today by the Cure (LIVE! My favorite version!!!!!) and New Way of Life by the Sound!!! New Way of Life has got to be one of my favorites by the band. I also got to learn a lot tonight and was introduced to some great songs and bands, so thank you! I didn’t know the bands Luna or Ride until tonight actually. And I hadn’t listened to the extended version of She’s in Parties before, it was great! I also absolutely loved hearing When The Sun Hits by Slowdive. The guitar in that song is just amazing, so thank you for that too! It was also so great when you played Skin Deep (definitely agree that you can’t go wrong with the Stranglers!) and Include Me out by the Young Marble Giants!
To add a request for next week, could you maybe play one of the songs shown below? Thank you! ….
it would be awesome to hear Tears or Time, the End of Time by the Chameleons. Dreams Never End by New Order would also be a cool one to hear, I just love that bass line! Or maybe Dead Souls or the live recording of JD Ceremony? Thanks again! Have a great week!!!
That was outstanding. Mighty Lemon Drops, House of Love and Mission of Burma. That was something great to hear them all at once. If you can find it, how about playing Mission of Burma’s Label Mate on Ace of Hearts Records, the Lyres and “I wanna help you Anne”
Thanks for a great show.
Angelic episode.
This week’s Darkness Award:
Ministry, “The Angel” – THE very definition of a perfect song.
Request for future show:
The Damned, “White Rabbit”
Thanks for playing my request for the Psychedelic Furs. Love hearing them on your show.
I don’t have a particular song request for next week though I was wondering if you could play something by Recoil. Give Alan Wilder’s solo work some much deserved airplay. Always loved what he did as Recoil and am still hoping and praying that another album may be in the works.
Matt Hour 1 was Top Shelf! Hearing Peter Gabriel The Intruder brought back many memories driving my 57 oval window VW Bug.
I’m on a roll here with two weeks in a row played requests and from the Mt. Fuji size request lists above you have a good start to next weeks DW. I’m staying on the sidelines… Have good week all.
Thanks so much for playing the DK’s. Songs sound so much better from your radio, more alive, more important.
Thank you Matt, Never Stop!
Oh! I noticed someone requested Procession by N.O., THAT! Is a very great tune.
Love ya Matt!
I agree with shawn and Robert Pollard I think you should play anything by the butthole surfers I dont know about Guided by voices but i will check them out
I just checked out that song death of satan by danny and the nightmares and it was really cool but I couldn’t find the song satanic church
Matt can you please play the song knife slits water — Certain ratio just found out about them last week and I only have the album sexlet and this seems like the. best song on the album
I suggest the songs girlfriend in a coma by the smiths and legacy by the legendary pink dots hope you can play one of them
How about Decades by Joy Division?
I would like to request Front 242 “ Don’t Crash”. We’ll always be remembered, we’ll always be dismembered…
Request for either:
The Young Gods ” All My Skun Standing”
Or
Ned Atomic Dustbin “Grey Cell Green”
What a perfect show!! Can I submit a few tracks for consideration in upcoming shows?
The Young Gods – Did You Miss Me?
The Lightning Seeds – Life of Riley
Faith and the Muse – Fade and Remain
The Tear Garden – You and Me and Rainbows (if you don’t ask, you don’t get…right?)
Attrition – Dreamsleep
I suggest playing anything by catherine wheel anything by janes addiction and mazzy star
I agree with playing the flaming stars London after midnight
I would like to suggest days of swine and roses by my life with the thrill kill kult and For Jooth Tanquertino information the smashing pumpkins are definitely goth think about it there mudic is depressing and alternative add the to together and that makes goth rock plus your bad mouthing Robert smith the robert smith from the cure he was just saying some of his favorite song that doesn’t mean you have to agree with them and too bad for you if you dont like his choice of music ps The cures Robert smith has the middle name of James and if you truly knew anything about goth you would know that
Could I please suggest the track “The Magician” by Secession? Thank you very much. Jamison
Well, what I’ve always loved about the music featured on this site is that it doesn’t fit in anywhere else. So, what fits in with the misfits? Meta.
That said, I’d argue that the Pumpkins would qualify, but maybe something from Gish?
My takeaway from the (many!) comments this week is that several have a similar sentence “structure”, for lack of a better word. Zoiks!
Also I think the Lightning Seeds music works.
Thanks for playing that great show I love all of those songs
My Darkest request for the week is “Sleeping Gas” by The Teardrop Explodes also if theres more time “Black Celebration Live”by Depeche Mode
Dialogue dub, now here’s the rub
She’s acting her reaction…
Love to hear Not in Love by Ross Williams
Rozz- thanks autocorrect
