Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders will celebrate Record Store Day this year by reissuing a 1980 live set recorded at Boston’s Paradise Theater on colored vinyl — a performance that originally only was available as a promo-only Warner Bros. Music Show platter.
Titled Live! At the Paradise Theater, Boston, 1980, the 11-song set was recorded March 23, 1980, and will be pressed on red “color-in-color” vinyl and will feature brand new artwork.
Now in its 12th year, Record Store Day falls on April 18 June 20 (delayed by coronavirus) this year. Head over to the recordstoreday.com and recordstoreday.co.uk websites to see full lists of exclusive, limited-run and “RSD First” releases along with participating record stores in the U.S. and the U.K., respectively.

If vinyl is supposed to have superior sound and a hipster panache, why does it need gimmicks like being colored and “color in color” to push it?
It doesn’t.
