Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark today premiered the first official single off their upcoming album The Punishment of Luxury, a soaring, classic-sounding single called “Isotype” that will be released digitally tomorrow and will be issued on 12-inch vinyl as well.
The new album — the group’s first record since 2013’s English Electric — is due out Sept. 1 via White Noise Records. The group had teased the record with the track “La Mitrailleuse,” but “Isotype” is the first proper single. Pre-orders are now up through OMD’s site for the album and single.

Great track as usual!!
Very Kraftwerk-ish :)
Very listener-friendly.
Very Kraftwerk (wich is always good) and, in a way, radio-friendly. I hope get high on charts! Good single!
Kraftwerk in the dark
Great track, classic OMD with heavy Kraftwerk influences. I also hear Billy Currie’s ARP Odyssey-soul in the bright lead synths.
CD single please (or are they waiting to round up all their vinyl-only B-sides on a CD EP again…?)
