The Mighty Lemon Drops debut unreleased ‘My Biggest Thrill’ demo off ‘Uptight’ comp

The Mighty Lemon Drops

With the release next week of The Mighty Lemon Drops’ new Uptight: The Early Recordings 1985/1986 compilation, Cherry Red Records today debuted one of the set’s previously unreleased tracks: a demo recording of Happy Head single “My Biggest Thrill” made during a July 1986 session ahead of that album’s recording.

The track — which you can stream below — is one of five the band recorded during that session included on Uptight, and one of a total of eight previously unreleased recordings to appear on the new set, which is due out Monday in the U.K. and compiles the indie-pop favorites’ early singles, demos, BBC radio sessions and recordings made for the NME’s legendary C86 tape (see full tracklist).

Check out that newly released demo — as well as the final single release — below.
