The new lineup of the Pixies — with Kim Shattuck of The Muffs taking the place of the departed original bassist Kim Deal — will follow up this fall’s European tour with a 33-city North American trek that will keep the band on the road through much of January and February 2014, the group announced this morning.
The Pixies also debuted a new Ondi Timoner-directed video for “Andro Queen,” one of the four new songs on its just-released EP-1. That clip can be seen below.
The North American tour will feature support from Fidlar, Cults and Best Coast, and opens Jan. 15 in Toronto and wraps up March 1 in Austin, Texas. There’s a presale underway now for fans who registered at the band’s website, with the general onsale for all dates following at 10 a.m. local time Friday.
According to the band, the tour “will feature a brand new stage set and production, and will give the band an opportunity to not only debut brand new Pixies songs, but to offer the most wide-ranging concert set lists of Pixies music in the band’s career.”

fuck, it’s like you can’t get rid of them now! oh, and “to offer the most wide-ranging concert set lists of Pixies music in the band’s career” is a joke. you’re only adding on an EP of new material and some tracks still being considered for public consumption. Best thing this band has done since reuniting was that Acoustic gig/DVD. PS If you really want tickets, pay attention to your local “alternative” radio stations cause they’re giving away tons of tix for this tour!
Wish we could get rid of morons like you, stupid twit!
It was Kim Deal holding them back from doing good anything new & playing anything from Bossanova & Trompe le Monde.
Go listen to The Breeders if you don’t like The Pixies now!
They will have no problem selling their venues out either
what are you, 10?
That recent London show they’re currently video-streaming on iTunes (the “iTunes Festival,” whatever that is) was excellent. Just watch the first five songs and tell us otherwise! They are in fiiiiine form right now.
Ohio… :)
No, but I figured from your rant that 10 is your IQ!
Is it a sin that im more excited to see Cults than the Pixies?
I mean its too bad that they’re not playing their NW show with them but atleast they’re playing the Wonder Ballroom in Portland tomorrow night too!
