I caught the tail end of the show last night, and was thrilled to hear Ripple close out the set. It made working late Sunday not so terrible. Maybe next week we can hear solo Kilbey or something from Jack Frost (Kilber + McLennan)?
(Kilbey + McLennan, of course)
Awesome choices as always! Keep it up!
Hey, man, you’re doing a great job with the show–not that the old DJ didn’t do well, cuz he did, but you’re a better choice, and the curator’s voice is a nice complement to the musical content. I have enjoyed your picks by The Church, House of Love, and Chameleons, and hope you’ll play lots more of them. You’ve also turned me on to stuff I missed. Finally, you’ve got the guts to play stuff like Christian Death and Death In June (more of the latter, please). Best of all, you sound like a great guy with whom to have a beer and a friendly game of Yahtzee or Scrabble while discussing philosophy or the latest news in the world of science or technology, even if we don’t know what the hell it’s really all about.
Can you dig up Opal? Not Opal the singer lady, but Opal the band that became Mazzy Star when Hope Sandoval took over the vocal position. They did a whole album of psychedelic witchcraft blues that might add a nice contrast when placed between Clan of Xymox and Wire. Any way you play it, if you do, I’m sure people will be asking about them.
See you next week!
Hey, thanks. And I will see if I can dig up that Opal album…
