True to its name, the 2013 installment of NYC Popfest will be an indie-pop lover’s dream, as the organizers have landed rare American performances by C86 veterans Close Lobsters and The Wolfhounds as well as U.K. post-punk act The Monochrome Set — all newly reunited after years if not decades apart — plus an appearance by Flying Nun vets The Bats.
The festival runs May 30 through June 2, featuring a lineup announced today (via Brooklyn Vegan) that also features more recent bands such as The Orange Peels, The School, Flowers, Ringo Deathstarr, Math & Physics Club, French Films, The Hobbes Fanclub, Alpaca Sport and much more.

It’s not yet known whether Close Lobsters, The Bats or The Wolfhounds have other U.S. shows planned, but The Monochrome Set has booked what it’s billing as a U.S. mini tour. Check out dates below.
