True to his cancellation-prone reputation, Morrissey this afternoon scrubbed at least three of his upcoming concerts over an unspecified “band illness,” canceling his show tonight in Flint, Mich., and postponing concerts in Minneapolis on Friday and in Chicago on Friday — shows that are part of a tour already rescheduled from last fall.
According to a statement released by Morrissey’s publicist, the Michigan show has been canceled outright, and ticketholders will receive refunds. Fans with tickets to the Minneapolis and Chicago concerts are encouraged to hold onto those tickets “and look out for rescheduled dates.”
The tour is now expected to resume Monday in Asheville, N.C.
The statement reads: “Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience and wishes his band a speedy recovery!”
The tour, which runs through mid-March, was rescheduled after Morrissey postponed dozens of dates last fall to return to England to be with his ailing mother. Moz resumed touring last month in Australia and New Zealand.

I suspect there will be more added. Sad.
Saw Moz in Red Hook, and Boz was wearing a surgical mask. He looked like death. Moz said that the entire band save himself had the flu. I was waiting for this to happen.
I have to say, whenever Morrissey cancels a gig, its like he’s doing the public a favour.
I will always love his music, but man, what a twat…
F@*ck Morrissey, This is the second cancellation to Mpls on this tour and it has done nothing but cost me money on non refundable hotel rooms booked through Priceline. Nothing like cancelling the night before the show. TS is right what a twat!
Regardless of him coming or not, I would not consider going to see him even if the tickets were free.
I drove 250 miles a few years ago only to have him cancel the show that afternoon (after checking into hotel)… I swore then never to drive out of town for him… I now have tickets for next weeks tuesday night show locally… wonder if it’ll happen?
