The newly reactivated Jesus and Mary Chain will follow up last month’s short run of Texas concerts with the group’s first-ever trip to China next month to perform at the China Music Valley International Music Festival in Beijing, where the noise-pop legends will share the bill with White Lies, Joss Stone, Xu Wei and Wang Feng.
The Mary Chain is slated to perform May 19 at the festival, which takes place at the Beijing Yuyang International Ski Resort, according to the band’s website. The only other tour date on the books for JAMC this year is a Sept. 5 make-up date in New Orleans, a show that was supposed to have been part of last month’s run, but was rescheduled after visa troubles delayed the band.
In March, the Jesus and Mary Chain played their first concerts in four years with a three-date trip to Texas, which included a performance at South By Southwest. Check out video here.
