As promised, he newly reunited Dead Can Dance will tour North America this summer, today announcing a 16-date tour of the U.S. and Canada this August and September that’ll include a two-night stand at New York City’s Beacon Theatre and a tour-ending show in Austin, Texas.
The trek, which precedes the already announced European dates this fall, opens Aug. 9 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and runs through Austin show on Sept. 7. Tickets go on sale later this month for most of the shows; full details are available at deadcandance.com. The band promises to send e-mail subscribers pre-sale information tomorrow.
The band — co-founders and mainstays Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard — will then open their European tour Sept. 19 in Istanbul and wrap up Oct. 28 in Dublin, hitting five cities in Germany as well as Russia, England and Greece, among other locales, in between. The band promises to announce South American and Asian legs “shortly.”
