ChameleonsVox — the band featuring frontman Mark Burgess and drummer John Lever of post-punk favorites The Chameleons — this week announced a brief, five-date U.K. tour this spring that will be preceded by a slot at the Rewind Easter Fest on a bill also featuring Clan of Xymox and Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
The band’s U.K. tour opens April 14 in Birmingham and wraps up May 5 in Leeds; the trek, while short in length, features a variety of support acts, including, at the London concert on April 21, The Snake Corps, the Sad Lovers & Giants spin-off that was resurrected in 2010. Before that run of shows, though, the band will play Rewind Easter Fest on April 6 in Gent, Belgium.
Last fall, ChameleonsVox played a run of U.S. dates, including concerts in Oakland, Calif., and New York where Burgess and Co. performed 1983 debut album Script of the Bridge in its entirety.
ChameleonsVox tour dates:
April 6: Rewind Easter Festival, Gent, Belgium
April 14: HMV Institute, Birmingham, UK
April 15: Club Academy, Mancheter, UK
April 21: O2 Academy Islington, London, UK
April 22: Tunnels, Bristol, UK
May 5: Left Bank, Leeds, UK

- Mark Burgess to perform The Chameleons’ ‘Script of the Bridge’ in New York, Oakland
- The Chameleons reissuing 1985′s ‘What Does Anything Mean? Basically’
God I’d love to see this show. One of my favorite bands ever and I never got to see them live in their hay day. Living in BFE Texas will do that to ya. FML
I must have missed something but what prompted the slight name change?
If you like the Chameleons Vox you should check out Black Swan Lane: Mark Burgess collaborates on a lot of their stuff, especially “The Sun and The Moon Sessions” and a couple of the guys play in both bands. BSL just opened for them on their tour and I highly recommend them.
does the clan of xymox plan to tour the desert southwest in the USA ?
