Dinosaur Jr fans who missed the reunited trio’s limited run of shows featuring a full-album performance of 1988’s Bug last year can now relive the experience vicariously through six fans who were selected to document the band’s June 25, 2011, show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., for a new DVD and Blu-ray out next month.
Dubbed “Bug Live at 9:30 Club: In the Hands of the Fans,” the new film — overseen by Dave Markey, director of the Sonic Youth film “1991: The Year Punk Broke” — will be released Feb. 21, and features the full nine-song album plus performances of You’re Living All Over Me cuts “Sludgefeast” and “Raisans.”
Bonus material includes an on-stage interview with the band by Henry Rollins, backstage footage with fans, interviews with Markey and J Mascis, and bonus footage of the band performing “In a Jar” and “The Wagon.” Check out the full tracklist and a trailer below.
