Demon Music Group , the label behind the new Jesus and Mary Chain reissues, asked Jim Reid to put together a circa-1985 mixtape, and the result — featuring the likes of Orange Juice, New Order, Swell Maps and The Fall — can be streamed in the player above. Reid explains: “This is typical of the music we were listening to during the year of Psychocandy, anyone of these songs could have appeared on band compilation tapes that were listened to on the tour bus etc. Any of the songs could have been selected by any band member.”

Great mix. You forgot to mention Neubauten, The The, The Pogues and The Gun Club. The Mary Chain have amazing tastes.
