Roots-punk legends X are extending the 30th anniversary celebration of their debut Los Angeles — which began with a run of West Coast dates last Christmas — with a new 10-date December leg that follows the band’s previously announced fall tour, which will feature a performance of the 1980 album front-to-back each night.
While the band — John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom and D.J. Bonebrake — already had announced shows on the East Coast and Midwest in September and October, this week sees the unveiling of a new run of shows that opens Dec. 9 in Phoenix, then hits Tucson and Las Vegas before seven dates in California, culminating with a pair of New Year’s gigs in San Francisco.
Each show will feature a full performance of Los Angeles and a screening of “X: The Unheard Music,” an 86-minute documentary originally released in 1986 and featuring performances filmed between 1980 and 1985 — plus the band promises to play “a lot more.”
