Here’s a first: a musician “covering” his own song for The A.V. Club’s Undercover series, in which bands drop in on the site’s Chicago offices and pick a song off a predetermined list to cover live in a very small room. When Bob Mould stopped by, the series’ producers asked him to perform Sugar’s “If I Can’t Change Your Mind,” one of the few songs left on the current list. Mould was a good sport, saying, “This definitely counts as a cover. This is a Sugar cover. They were a great band.” Then he tore into the song, just himself and an electric guitar.
