The pioneering German avante-garde industrial act Einstürzende Neubauten will embark on a 30th anniversary tour of Europe and North America this fall, playing full-length concerts in each of the 16 cities it visits while also presenting a second night of films, side projects, workshops and audience Q&As.
The 22-date first leg begins Oct. 14 in Amsterdam and continues through Europe until closing Nov. 19 in Brussels, with two nights scheduled in each city — sometimes at the same venue, other times at different locations. The trek picks up again with the band’s first North American visit in six years, a 10-date run opening Dec. 1 in Los Angeles and wrapping Dec. 15 in New York City (see full dates below).
In each city, according to the band’s website, Einstürzende Neubauten will perform a full-length concert on one night, and present a second night divided into a three-part program featuring films and installations; a short Neubauten live set with “material that has never been played live, hasn’t been played live for a long time or never in this form”; and performances by the band’s individual members “recomposed from city to city.”
A press release announcing the North American dates says that in addition to music and film, the “multidisciplinary experiences” also will include Q&A sessions with fans about the band’s history and development, as well as workshops and lectures regarding the group’s “connection with Berlin culture from the 1980s to today.”

I haven’t been to the metro for years. This very well could be the thing to drag me out.
