As promised, the second release in Elvis Costello’s newly launched The Costello Show series of live archival releases will chronicle the singer’s historic June 4, 1978, performance with the Attractions at Hollywood High School, which came just three months after the release of This Year’s Model.
Due out Jan. 12, the 20-song Live at Hollywood High follows the September release of the oft-bootlegged Live at the El Mocambo. According to a press release from Universal Music, upcoming Costello Show titles “will include, among others, concerts performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Royalty Theater in London.”
The new live set features 11 previously unreleased tracks; the 7-inch “Live at Hollywood High” — featuring Costello and the Attractions running through “Accidents Will Happen,” “Alison” and “Watching the Detectives” from that concert — came free with initial copies of the UK release of Armed Forces in 1979. Six other tracks from the concert were included on the 2002 reissue of that album.
