An apparently recuperating Trent Reznor today rejiggered the final dates of Nine Inch Nails’ sold-out Wave Goodbye farewell club tour after being forced to cancel a second straight Los Angeles show this week due to illness.
Having already postponed last night’s Henry Fonda Theater show, Reznor today moved Saturday’s Wiltern concert to Thursday, declaring that the last-ever NIN gig. The Henry Fonda show has been rescheduled for Tuesday. And Sunday’s Echoplex concert will go on as scheduled, although fans who once thought they would witness NIN’s final on-stage gasp now will have to settle for seeing the band’s third-to-last show.
Reznor — who famously quit Twitter a couple times this year — announced the rescheduling this afternoon on NIN’s official Twitter feed, letting fans know, “I’m still alive…”
Nine Inch Nails already has played four farewell shows in New York City, two in Chicago and the first of the four shows planned for Los Angeles. Already, Reznor has been joined onstage by Bauhaus’ Peter Murphy and Gary Numan, the latter of whom performed with NIN on Wednesday at the Hollywood Palladium to perform his songs “Cars” and “Metal.”
