Squeeze opens a Coachella-centered U.S. tour this week, and will be bringing along a new piece of merchandise: a limited-edition, white-vinyl concert album called ‘Live at the Fillmore’ that was recorded at the historic San Francisco venue in August 2010. Stream one of the tracks here.

Squeeze will take advantage of their booking at the newly expanded two-weekend Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival to book a short run of California dates around the fest this April, plus at least one East Coast concert later in the month with contemporaries Dave Wakeling and The English Beat.

The week’s new releases include a host of reissues from the likes of The Church (‘Of Skins and Heart,’ ‘The Blurred Crusade’), The Soft Boys (‘A Can of Bees,’ ‘Underwater Moonlight’), Dexys Midnight Runners (‘Searching for the Young Soul Rebels’), Gary Numan (‘Automatic’), The Wedding Present (‘Live 1989’) and Nick Heyward (‘North of a Miracle’).

This week’s new CD releases include ‘Spot the Difference,’ a new 14-track best-of from Squeeze featuring faithful re-recordings of the band’s best-loved hits, and ‘Some Friendly and Greatest Hits at the Roundhouse,’ a 3CD live set from The Charlatans.

Squeeze took time out from their current U.S. tour to drop by “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” last night to deliver a rousing take on their 1980 single ‘Pulling Mussels (From the Shell),’ one of the 14 tracks the band has re-recorded for its forthcoming compilation ‘Spot the Difference.’

Reunited British pop-rockers Squeeze will deliver a new 14-track best-of this summer featuring ‘all their classic hits re-recorded in a way so painstakingly faithful to the originals that they challenge you to spot the difference,’ according to a statement from the band.
