Ex-members of KMFDM and Revolting Cocks will join Front 242 and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult this spring at the Wax Trax! Records Retrospectacle: 33⅓ Year Anniversary, a two-night multimedia concert in Chicago celebrating the legendary record store and pioneering industrial music label.
The event — April 15 and 16 at Metro (via Waveformless) — is being staged by the family of co-founder Jim Nash, who died in 1995 due to complications brought on by AIDS (the label’s other founder, Dannie Flesher, also died of AIDS complications last year). Proceeds will benefit Center On Halsted, billed as the most comprehensive lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgendered community center in the Midwest.
The concert will be headlined by Front 242 and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, and will feature former RevCo members Luc Van Acker, Paul Barker (also of Ministry) and Chris Connelly performing a set of that band’s music, along with ex-KMFDM players En Esch, Guenter Schulz and Raymond Watts playing that band’s songs. Chicago punk-metal act Rights of the Accused also is on the bill.
Tickets are $60 for the two-night event, with special $500 VIP packages available that include four tickets, reserved seats and limited-edition posters. For full details, go here.
