My request for next Sunday is
Sweet Lover Hangover by Love & Rockets
I second this emotion. A stellar underrated tune from Love & Rockets.
“Symphony In Blue” by Kate Bush for nxt Sunday’s show in honour of Valentine’s Day eve EVE <3
Love this one!
Valentines?
“I ♡ Fur” Evil Mothers
Walk this dog to HELL!
( Masoch Kiss) version…
Get the Balance Right is more a mantra than a song. Thank you
The Mission – Over the Hills and Far Away
Fantastic show Matt! Thanks for playing Gang of Four, that was really nice. And for the amazing Tom Verlaine tribute block. MM and Adventure were on the turntable all last week. The hall of fame block was amazing as well, and I couldn’t agree with you more about The Smiths, they should have been in years ago.
Probably too soon for more shoegaze but I’m seeing Ride next week in San Francisco and would love to hear something to get in the mood, perhaps Paralysed?
Have a great week, cheers!
No dark things by the Bunnymen please!
Next week, perhaps?
We All Stand — New Order
I assume there won´t be a slot for Tales of Innocence as I haven´t seen any post-RW songs here yet.
Good DW! The Verlaine block was great. Also enjoyed the punk block.
Here are some requests –
The Cramps – Caveman
Gary Numan – Observer
Thanks!
Hello Matt! Hour 2 rocked my socks. Feeling the need for female kick-assery…. Some possible suggestions for next time:
Kittie – Brackish
L7 – Shitlist
PJ Harvey – 50 Ft Queenie
PS I miss the 90’s!!
Thanks as always! 。◕‿◕。
Was a wonderful show last night! Would you play Echo & The Bunnymen – Ocean Rain?
Thank you!
Hi Matt,
I was watching some behind the scenes stuff for the movie Blue Velvet and discovered that David Lynch’s favorite song at the time of filming was This Mortal Coil’s, Song to the Siren. They couldn’t afford the rights to the song so David Lynch wrote some words down and sent them to Angelo Badalamenti and asked him to create something in the same vain.
Angelo composed the song Mysteries of Love with Julee Cruise.
Two beautiful songs that I thought would be interesting to play on your show sometime.
Thanks
Controlling episode.
This week’s Darkness Award:
Nitzer Ebb, “Control I’m Here”
“You’re hoping that I’m not here
You’re hoping that I’m not here”
if my favorite Skinny Puppy song is Dig It does that make me basic? I’m ok with that. Loved the back 2 back with MBM.
Another great show, thank you. We’re about to listen to it again!
too late to make a request but if there are any darkwave bands who’ve covered Steely Dan I think that would make an excellent followup to the next Big Black track you play…
LONG TIME COMING – BAMBI SLAM
DEEP BLUE – FETCHIN BONES
ONLY DREAMING -RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY
Could you play “My New Career” by Japan?
How about “O Pamela” by the Wake? Dedicated to a dear friend I haven’t seen in years but meant a lot to me.
Think the Grinderman/Concrete Blonde was your best opener yet. And loved the Verlaine tribute. Hour 1 killed it.
Thanks for the great show. Have a good week.
I don’t know if there is room, but “Dread Love” by Nina Hagen seems like a good fit considering Feb. 14 is lurking in the shadows. Thanks!
I love this show!
How about some MC900 Ft Jesus – Too Bad
Same here – loved the Tom Verlaine block, Gang of Four, hall of famers…And more Ride would be fantastic!
I’m honor of the newly announced skinny puppy tour, how about chainsaw from mind:tpi. Thanks matt
Can I request Mercy Seat by Ultra Vivid Scene. Thanks I remember watching this on Snub TV in the UK. superb.
Thanks Matt for 2 solids sets of Industrial music, especially the MBM. Don’t forget about Sister Machine Gun. How about playing Burn by SMG? Any chance to get a full 3-hour show of Industrial music?
