New Order has announced its first hometown concert in four years, a large outdoor gig with Hot Chip and Working Men’s Club at Manchester’s Heaton Park in September that will precede the group’s rescheduled U.S. tour with the Pet Shop Boys later that month.
Tickets for the Sept. 10 show in Manchester are now on sale.
The band says in a statement about the concert:
“The connection between ourselves and Manchester has played a pivotal role in who we are as a band. We have countless memories from across the city, from our early days starting out, and beyond. We promise to bring a celebration like no other to Heaton Park in 2021, and we can’t wait to see everyone come together for a night we all never forget.”
Beyond the COVID-rescheduled Unity Tour with Pet Shop Boys, New Order also is slated to perform Nov. 6 in London. The band also recently released a video for its new song, “Be a Rebel.”
