News of the sudden and unexpected death of Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan this week at the age of 46 continues to ricochet across the music world, with artists from R.E.M., U2 and Duran Duran to Tonya Donelly, The The’s Matt Johnson, Peter Murphy and The Waterboys’ Mike Scott all paying tribute to the beloved singer via social media.
We’ve rounded some of those up, and will add more as they surface.
We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today.

Sad and shocked to hear this. We enjoyed playing with, and listening to, the Cranberries and Dolores’ amazing voice. R.I.P. Dolores. https://t.co/XsAophyNOz

Very sad to hear about Dolores O’Riordan’s early death. She would sometimes travel on our tour bus when The Cranberries supported us on an American tour. Sweet girl.

Travel on well, Dolores O’R. May you find yourself in the County Kerry of heaven.

So incredibly sad to be saying goodbye to Dolores O’Riordan far, far too soon. She was an amazing talent and it was an honor (and a lot of fun) to have shared stages with her & @The_Cranberries many years ago. 💔💔💔💔 pic.twitter.com/36xiwWkbJT

“Beloved Dolores, it’s so sad that you’ve gone from us. We never said goodbye, but you left us with your songs, your beautiful voice and when we listen, we’ll remember all those good times.” – Simon
