Peter Murphy’s been on the road since April with his “Mr. Moonlight Tour: Celebrating 35 Years of Bauhaus” show, and when it came time to wrap it up Wednesday night in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the former Bauhaus leader had a treat for fans: He was joined by The Mission’s Wayne Hussey to perform T. Rex’s “Telegram Sam” and David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust.”
Murphy’s tour found the singer performing full sets of material by Bauhaus and songs the legendary goth-rock act used to cover, namely “Telegram Sam” and “Ziggy Stardust.”
As you can see from the video posted below (via Fernando Lopes), Murphy brought Hussey — who lives in Sao Paulo — out during the encore for the two raucous covers. The connection between the two frontmen should be no surprise; Murphy’s guitarist, Mark Gemini Thwaite, played in The Mission during the 2000s.
The Mission will tour the U.S. next month before releasing The Brightest Light, the first record to find Hussey joined by original members Simon Hinkler and Craig Adams since 1990′s Carved In Sand.
