Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield today handed over command of the International Space Station ahead of his planned return to Earth on Monday — and then sent a truly amazing farewell message in the form of a cover of David Bowie’s classic “Space Oddity” that he recorded on the space station. UPDATE 5/13/14: According to Chris Hadfield, the video is being taken down today because he only had permission to post it for a year.

very cool… surprised it’s taken this long for someone to do something like this.
If I was David Bowie, on seeing this I would completely geek out, regardless of the fact that I was, in fact, David Bowie.
