The announcement last week that Tears For Fears was postponing a U.K. tour with Alison Moyet due to an undisclosed health issue came with a glimmer of good news: Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith hope to finish work on their first new album in 14 years and release it this fall.
Of course, Tears For Fears fans may remember a similar pronouncement in 2013, when the band said it was working on new material to be released in 2014. That didn’t happen, and, in fact, TFF didn’t release any new music until fall of 2017, when it included two new tracks on best-of Rule the World.
No word yet on what to expect from the band’s follow-up to 2004’s Everybody Loves a Happy Ending.
On the touring front, though, TFF postponed their April tour with Moyet until next February “due to unforeseen health concerns and on doctor’s orders.” Head over to tearsforfears.com for ticketing info.

Favorite song of the 80s was Everybody Wants to Rule the World.
My late mom loved Everybody Wants to Rule the World. One of her favorite songs. Infact, she sends me “her song” sometimes. I hear it when I need to….
