Here’s a fun find by our friends at Chain of Flowers: Video footage of The Cure’s Robert Smith hamming it up for what presumably is a commercial of some sort by Chilean promoters to sell tickets to the band’s concert this weekend in Santiago. In the midst of a rare eight-date tour of Latin America, The Cure is slated to play Asunción, Paraguay, tonight.
The Cure’s LatAm2013 Tour:
April 9: Jockey Club, Asunción, Paraguay
April 12: River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina
April 14: Estadio Nacional, Santiago, Chile
April 17: Estadio Nacional, Lima, Peru
April 19: Simon Bolivar Park, Bogotá, Colombia
April 21: Foro Sol, Mexico City, Mexico

I hope The Cure make it out of South America in one piece, lol. They already had some trouble apparently.
I’m hoping for more US dates this year beyond the 1 already announced.
None of the songs mentioned would lure me to another Cure show. Love Bobert and all the gang, but unless they are playing more obsCure stuff, I can’t be bothered anymore.
I went to see them this year. They played many dark songs (at least 20). My (un)faith in humanity was restored that day.
Now all i want is a new dark album, is it too much to ask?- “Yes, don’t trust humans, you’ll never see the 4:13 left-overs” -OK
Wow…That was…the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen Robert Smith do.
He looks like crap anymore.
Bloodflowers was the last cure record in my opinion. Everything since then has felt like a different band, but i guess every artist reaches that point. They stop evolving and just exist.
“The Cure” is my least favorite album and that’s all due to the shite production of Ross Robinson (just awful!). What appealed to Robert about Robinson’s previous productions for Korn, Vanilla Ice, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, is my surprise. Glad Rob’s over that whole Korn phase (glad everyone is actually)
I don’t know why Robert doesn’t produce the next album himself or with Reeves assisting. And what about all those “darker” left-overs from “4:13 Dream” sessions ?

The Cure are such a spent force, whats the point in even going to see them unless you want to see the exact same thing as the last ten years. They were pretty much done after Bloodflowers.
“The ________ are such a spent force, whats the point…”
Here is the gist of every damn comment on this website from the trolls who have ruined it. Au revoir.
The Cure ruined themselves.
And i’m not a troll, just someone with an opinion. Your aggressive tone makes you the troll my dear.
Mary… No trolls here. A Cure fanatic since 1986. I will always love the Cure that I grew up with and loved, but there is a lot of truth in these comments. I would love to remember the Cure the way they were.
