This Christmas marks the 25th anniversary of the boozy holiday classic “Fairytale of New York” by The Pogues and the late Kirsty MacColl, so, to mark the occasion, the band is reissuing the 1987 single in a variety of digital and vinyl formats with new cover art. According to the Pogues’ Facebook page, a digital bundle featuring the original song, an instrumental version and the video will be released Nov. 26, while a vinyl 7-inch is due out “in all good stores in the U.K. and U.S.” on Dec. 3.
Speaking of that classic video, let’s revisit it…

Brilliant tune, up there with the Waitresses’s Christmas Wrapping as my favourite.
Wouldnt it be great to see it sail to No.1 for Christmas instead of some two bit plank from X Factor?
