Celtic folk-punk favorites The Pogues will embark on a short run of European dates later this summer, culminating with a pair of back-to-back concerts in Paris this September that are being billed as a 30th anniversary celebration that the band has announced will be filmed and recorded for both a future live CD and DVD release.
The Pogues — Shane MacGowan, Spider Stacy, Jem Finer, James Fearnley, Andrew Ranken, Philip Chevron, Terry Woods and Darryl Hunt — currently are playing six August dates, with shows planned in the U.K., Germany and Hungary, followed by the two Paris gigs on Sept. 11 and 12.
It’s not known whether more dates will be added.
