Last May, the venerable 4AD group Dead Can Dance announced it would be reuniting, and while not much has been heard since, the group — Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard — today informed fans via Facebook that “we have started working on the album and the world tour is taking shape… we will be announcing news in the coming weeks.”
The reunion will be the second time the duo has gotten back together since disbanding in the late 1990s, and the new record will be the first since 1996’s Spiritchaser. When announcing the reunion last year, Perry wrote, “We hope to complete the album by the summer of 2012 and then embark on an extensive two-month world tour in late 2012.”
The as-yet-to-be-announced 2012 trek has been described as and “extensive two-month world tour including dates in Asia, Australasia and South America.”
