Morrissey continues to tease North American fans with dribbles of information about his upcoming touring plans, the latest of which is a promise to announce full details of the fall trek — now believed to comprise 10 U.S. shows and four Mexican dates, plus two American television appearances — on Thursday.
A statement released today to fan site and quasi-official news outlet True To You reads:
“Final details of all Morrissey live dates for November in the U.S will be announced on True-To-You on Thursday Sept. 1. Tickets will go on sale on Friday Sept. 9. The U.S tour will be immediately followed by Mexico, where concerts will take place in Monterrey, Guadalajara, Puebla and Mexico City. Morrissey will also appear on two U.S television shows, details of which will be included in the Sept. 1 news release.”
The U.S. dates, described as 10 concerts in the initial announcement on Aug. 19, will mark the former Smiths singer’s first American concerts since a pair of cancellation-prone visits in 2009. Moz has spent much of the summer on tour in the U.K. and Europe, and has debuted a number of new songs both on the BBC and in concert.
In a separate statement to True To You today, Moz ranks his favorite performances of that tour:
From the recent tour, Morrissey lists his most enjoyable nights as:
1. Vienna, Austria
2. Warsaw, Poland
3. Berlin, Germany
4. London Palladium, England
5. Isle Of Man
6. Bradford, England
7. Hawick, Scotland
8. Plymouth, England
9. Krakow, Poland
10. Eindhoven, Holland
