Duran Duran sets 24-date North American tour

After months of cancellations due to Simon Le Bon’s vocal problems, Duran Duran on Tuesday rolled out a 24-date tour that will bring the band back to North America this fall — dates that would have followed the band’s most recent round of scrapped concerts.

The tour, in support of last year’s comeback bid All You Need Is Now, follow a short spurt of U.S. dates last spring in conjunction with the band’s Coachella appearance. The fall trek opens Sept. 23 in Everett, Wash., and wraps up more than a month later in Atlantic City, N.J., and finds the band playing venues ranging from large theaters to small arenas. A few dates — Baton Rouge, La.; Hollywood, Fla.; New York City; and Boston — don’t yet have venues.

So far this year, Duran Duran has canceled and/or rescheduled dozens of concerts due to Le Bon’s lingering vocal problems. Most recently, the band scrapped its two-month European tour, which would have started in mid-July and was to have run up to the newly announced U.S. dates. Earlier, the group’s U.K. tour was rescheduled for December.
