Just a year after releasing the first new The The album in a decade — the soundtrack to the serial-killer film “Tony” — bandleader Matt Johnson is readying a second new film score, this time for the documentary “Moonbug,” about a photographer’s journey to document America’s space pioneers.
Not much is known yet about the soundtrack, which Johnson announced last week via Twitter as “coming soon.” Johnson debuted two of the tracks — “Driving Through” and “Leaving Earth” — on his “Radio Cineola” podcast last August (that episode, and others, can be sampled and purchased in full here).
Johnson has spent the past several years working on The The-related soundtracks. Last May, he released the first of those projects: Tony: A Soundtrack by The The, which was billed as “volume 1 in the upcoming Cineola series of releases” of The The film scores.
