New Wave legends Duran Duran today announced that they’ll follow their just-announced appearance at California’s massive Coachella festival with an 11-date U.K. arena tour in May and early June — a trek the band’s billing as “the start of a world tour that will last well into 2012.”
Promising to showcase material from All You Need Is Now — which was released digitally in December and will arrive in expanded CD form sometime in the next few months — and “classic hits from across their 30-year career,” the band will open its U.K tour on May 18 in Newcastle and wrap up on June 4 in Sheffield (see full dates below).
So far, the only other tour dates Duran Duran has announced — following an aborted attempt to play South Africa last December — include a set at the NFL Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam on Feb. 3 in Grand Prairie, Texas, plus the Coachella performance on April 17.
