Former Depeche Mode keyboard player Alan Wilder — aka Recoil — this week announced a 14-date fall tour of the Americas in support of this year’s Selected best-of collection, a trek that will include a half-dozen U.S. dates and shows in five South American nations.
Wilder held a series of live “events” with producer Paul Kendall — he stresses they are “a presentation of Recoil, not a concert” — earlier this year in Europe, although he did perform in New York and Mexico City. The new tour opens Oct. 18 in Seattle and plays four West Coast dates, a pair of East Coast concerts and Toronto before heading south to Chile, Argentina, Columbia and Ecuador.
And there will be from Wilder, who in February shocked fans by joining Depeche Mode on stage for the first time in 16 years. Recoil’s website reports: “One or two more cities in South America are still to be added, and more North American/Canadian dates will follow.”
