Tim Pope’s concert film “The Cure: Anniversary 1978-2018 Live in Hyde Park London” arrives in theaters worldwide next month, and you can now get an early glimpse of the full performance of 1989 single “Lovesong.” The film will be screened in theaters on July 11, and tickets are now available at thecure.film.
The Throwing Muses’ appearance at The Cure’s Pasadena Daydream Festival this summer won’t be a one-off, as the band has announced additional performances — their first in five years — in Boston and San Diego, as well as plans to record a new studio album. Full dates and details right here.

The Cure last night opened its five-night run of Disintegration 30th anniversary concerts at the Sydney Opera House, performing not only the classic 1989 album in full for the first time since 2002 but also debuting seven B-sides and outtakes from those recording sessions. The Cure will host and headline a daylong music festival on the golf course next to the iconic Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., over Labor Day weekend, with Robert Smith and Co. joined by hand-picked supporting acts Pixies, Deftones, Mogwai, Throwing Muses and more. Full details right here.
Despite laying down hints that American audiences would see The Cure play Disintegration in full later this year, Robert Smith made it clear in a radio interview Friday that it’s unlikely that’ll happen — and the band isn’t planning to mount a tour of the U.S. before 2020. Instead, the band’s planning a festival in L.A.
The Cure today announced the addition of a fifth and final 30th anniversary performance of the band’s magnum opus Disintegration to its late-May run in Sydney, Australia — and this last concert will be streamed live around the world for all to see. Full details right here.
