This week’s new releases include new studio albums from Hüsker Dü’s Grant Hart, Tears For Fears’ Curt Smith and The Teardrop Explodes’ Julian Cope, plus vinyl reissues from Cabaret Voltaire, The Birthday Party and Deacon Blue, a new remix collection from Section 25 and an Icehouse best-of.

This week’s new releases include the first new album in 29 years from Visage (‘Hearts and Knives’), plus a new studio LP from Texas, a live CD/DVD set from John Foxx and The Maths, a Section 25 reissue, a new Iggy Pop best-of, and the U.S. release of a Talking Heads vinyl reissue.

The surviving members of Factory Records post-punk outfit Section 25 next month will release ‘Retrofit,’ a remix disc — completed before the untimely death last February of frontman Larry Cassidy — that features 10 of the band’s favorite tracks ‘remade and remodeled using new technology.’

Larry Cassidy, co-founder and frontman of Factory Records postpunk outfit Section 25, has died, British music journalist John Robb reports today on his blog. The circumstances surrounding Cassidy’s death are not yet known.
