Synthpop legends Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark today announced plans to release a career-spanning 7-disc box set with unreleased live and studio material as well as a 20-song singles collection — both titled Souvenir — and debuted a new single called “Don’t Go.” Check out the full tracklist right here.

he Alarm has been on tour in the U.S. this summer with contemporaries Modern English and Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, a package that drew a high-profile guest in Cleveland last night: Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, who joined the Mike Peters-led band onstage to help perform its 1987 single “Rain in the Summertime.”

Peter Murphy remains hospitalized in New York City after suffering a heart attack this week, which has forced the former Bauhaus frontman to scrub the remaining five dates of his 12-concert residency in that city, his publicists announced Wednesday. Full details right here.

The Cure today shared the first footage of their 2018 appearance at the Meltdown festival that will be included in the band’s upcoming 40 Live: Curaetion-25 + Anniversary box set, which document that performance and their 40th anniversary show in London’s Hyde Park last year. Songwriting greats Andy Partridge of XTC and Robyn Hitchcock next month will release a four-song EP that Hitchcock says “began in his shed in Swindon in 2006” and is now finished after the two re-teamed last year to write one final song. Full details on the project right here.

The Cure’s bassist Simon Gallup was unable to travel to Japan for the band’s set at the Fuji Rock Festival tonight due to a “serious personal situation,” but the show went on with a natural fill in: his son Eden Gallup, who’s also Simon’s bass tech and plays in the band Violet Vendetta. The Replacements have offered up the first taste of their “radically re-imagined” version of their 1989 record Don’t Tell a Soul in the form of the new Matt Wallace mix of album opener “Talent Show,” which, as promised, is a bit more rough-hewn than what was released 30 years ago. Listen here.
